T.G.I.F.!!

Boy, I'm SO glad it's Friday. Next Monday I'm off to DC, NYC and then Italy. I've been so busy on this project at work that I haven't even had a chance to get excited about my trip.

Today was quite productive and I was pretty happy with all the things I was able to get done. Two weeks of work completed ahead of schedule so I hope there will be little grief for the folks covering for me while I'm out.

I found out that the temp I hired to offload some of my work just gave his notice. So much for a 6 week commit. It turned out to be more like 2. Oh, well. He was actually quite helpful in that short amount of time he was around, and I don't blame him for moving on to a better opportunity. It's not like the work I had given him was really challenging for him anyway.

After a long day at work, I hit the gym for my maintenance run and one of my trainers was helping me brainstorm fundraising ideas. He's funny. A few weeks ago for Halloween they had a game where you guess the number of lollipops in a jar. I guessed correctly. My guesstimate was 112! I'm sure I had an advantage since I spent a lot of time at our store growing up. I had no idea what I was going to do with all of those lollipops, but through our fundraising brainstorming session, my trainer swears I won the the lollipops for a reason. Our idea? Attaching a small flyer to a lollipop and with his assistance he'll be handing them out at the gym. He's a nice guy. So helpful! Hopefully I'll get some more contributions through this idea! Yay!

A lowkey evening for me tonight. I welcomed the time to cook a nice meal for myself and just relax. The laundry is in the machine, and I've got Dateline on. Ha ha...I'm a bit disappointed because if I happen to be around on Friday evenings, I really love watching Amy Grant's show, "Three Wishes". It's a very uplifting show. Every time I watch it I cry like a baby; not just sad tears , but convulsions and huge sobs. It's very cathartic to watch it after a long work week. For some reason it's not on tonight and Dateline caught my eye. They are talking about John Lennon and talking about the psyche of his assassin. These shows are interesting to watch. Deconstructing and delving into someone's mind is always a fascinating thing to me. I bet you figured that about me already, haven't you? :P

Tomorrow I've got 2 parties and a dinner. Hmm...figuring out logistics is going to be a challenge. This is definitely one of the better challenges to have! :-)

Maybe more in a bit. Ta ta!
