Miami On My Mind!
Last night around midnight it hit me again. Next week around that same time I'll be in Miami on the eve of the big event! I sent email updates and links to my training blog last night, and today I've been going through all of the wonderful emails and well-wishes. I just can't calm down about it even if I tried!! :-)
It just seems crazy that the event is already here. I guess I am just super excited because the entire experience has been a lot of 'firsts' for me. I never even thought to add to this my list of '101 Things To Do Before I Die'-type of list, but here I am! :-)
Some folks, in all honesty myself included, were a bit skeptical about me being able to follow through on this entire process, and as each week progressed, it just became 'something I did', like going to work, or some other hobby I made time for. I surprised myself often during all the training. Like those times I was able to wake up at 5:30AM to make it to our group run at 7AM!! All the Saturday evening socials I gave up so I could get a good night's rest for our long runs on Sunday morning. And running in the frigid temperatures of the early morning, or the time I completed 8 miles and didn't even break a sweat! Ha ha! :-) And the wonderful gals in my pace group, who trained so diligently with me each week and who were there to share in all the aches and pains. And really, all the mental challenges and the emotional roller coaster associated with all of these milestones was incredible!
I really have a new appreciation for athletes and just the human body in general and all that it's capable of. I've got so much gratitude in my heart, and so many wonderful memories! Lately each time I think about the event I just want to cry because it's all been so moving. Words couldn't express the impact of this moment in my life.
I might be a bit premature with all of my gushing, but my heart overfloweth, and the love and awe is just oozing out of me!! :-)
Love ya bunches,
Rambing Muse

Hey,
You're not mad that I corrected you on the melanie not being my sister thing, are you?
You haven't commented since then, so I'm hoping that didn't piss you off.
b (who overanalyzes everything!)
b,
I replied to this comment on a comment on your blog (Jan 29 post, "Update"), not here. I didn't realize you'd check here for a follow up reply.
Oh...and no comments...because I've either been a) busy or b) kinda embarrassed with all the sox talk. Ha ha... J/K... :-P
We're good. No worries. :-)
Thanks for the recriprocal visit. I'm linking you on my blog. I'm working on a post about how the boy and I met and how things have progressed since we met. Hopefully I will post it in the next day or so and it will answer your questions.
And to answer your other question, i'm a real estate and mineral law attorney. I also do a little Elder law work for fun.
Good, I'm glad.
